THE EXHIBITION.
In consequence of representations made to them on the subject, the promoters have decided that the price of season tickets shall be as under ;—For the head of a family, two guineas ; and season tickets applied for at the same time for members of his family, one guinea each. It is also their intention to make yet further additions to the building, and two porches—one at the west end, and the other at the east end of the Avenue of Nations—will be erected, which will give sixteen additional bays. The Government have made the same concessions to Messrs Jonbert and Twopeny in the matter of telegraphic communication as was accorded them by the various Australian Governments during the currency of the Exhibition. It is stated that ton extra police constables, one sergeant, and two detectives will be sent from Wellington for duty in Christchurch during the Exhibition season. Daring the months of April ana May, the Union Steamship Company will issue Exhibition tickets by their steamers in the intercolonial trade at the same reduced rates that were charged during the Melbourne Exhibition. On the Coast, the fares will be reduced to what is termed the holiday rates, or 30 per cent, off two single fares. The tickets issued during April and May will be available up to the 30th of Jane.
