THE EXHIBITION.
Subjoined will bo found the memorandum of Customs requirements by which tfee exhibits of dutiable goods will be controlled at the forthcoming International Exhibition in Hagley Park :
Memorandum of Customs Requirements be Wbw Zealand Exhibition.
“1. The promoters with two approved sureties to enter into the usual bond for a bonded warehouse. On the bond being duly executed the Exhibition building will be approved and appointed to be a bonded warehouse under the Crown look; goods to be received into and delivered from the Exhibition building on conditions prescribed by the Customs regulations. “2. Duplicate invoices, containing detailed description and value of exhibits, to be produced, which invoices will be stamped by the Customs. One copy will be returned to the Exhibitor, and one copy retained by the Customs.
“3. Exhibits to be inspected in tbe presence of the Customs officers, and checked againa'. stamped invoices. “ 4. Before goods are removed from Lyttelton, exhibitor* to indicate the particular packages which contain goods intended for sale; these to be placed in a separate compartment of the Exhibition building, or in an examining shed, or ordinary bonded warehouse for examination by the Customs. _ “5. Duty to be paid on articles intended for sale before they oan be permitted to be exhibited.
“6. Jewellery and other valuable dutiable goods intended for exhibition only, and not for sale, may be exhibited in show cases secured under the Customs seal.
“7. At the close of tho Exhibition all dutiable goods to be packed in presence of a Customs officer, who will be required to certify that they agree with the invoice tendered with them on importation before they oan be delivered for exportation from the colony. “8. An enclosed separate office for the exclusive use of the Cnstoms, with necessary office furniture, to be provided in the Exhibition building. The Customs officers will not have custody, or be in any way responsible for goods in the Exhibition building; they will be present simply as revenue officers.”
