At recent sales of pure-bred shorthorns in the United States the following averages were realised:—Mr Geo. E. Bedford's sale of 37 head at Kansas City, £25 7s 10Ad ; Messrs E. Harper and Bone’s sale of 25 head at Girard, Kansas, £l6 Os 10d j the Messrs Hamilton’s sale of 16 head at Manhattan, Kansas, £27 18s 4i ; a draft sale of 38 head of shorthorns from the Bow Park Herd of the Canada West Farm Stock Association, held at Glen Flora, Waukegan, Illinois, £32 5s lOd ; the bull Earl of Airdrie 4th being afterwards sold privately for XIOO, and Messrs Hostetler's sale of 41 head at Mount Carroll, Hlim is, £27 5s lOd
