Elizabeth Darratt was charged at the Police Court to-day with bigamy, having married Francis M. Hewson in 1874, her husband, Bobert Darratt, being alive. She was remanded. An Hotel Company. The survey of the Hamilton-Oamhridge railway line is finished, aud the station at Cambridge is fixed. Auckland College.

Dr. Hector and Professors Brown, Sale and Sband attended a meeting of the Auckland College and Grammar School Board, and gave their views upon the question of the buildings and boarding establishment attached to the school. The opinion expressed was unanimously adverse to such a course, though it was thought undeaiiable to take the boarding establishment to any great distance away from the school. The decision on the subject was deferred.

WANGANUI, March 3.

Volunteer Encampment-

It has been decided to hold the Easter Encampment on the Wanganui racecourse, for the companies of this and Manawatu, Bangitikei, and Taranaki districts. Five hundred men are expected to attend. The camp opens on the 6th April, and breaks np on Easter Monday with a sham fight and a review, A meeting of officers was hold last night, when Captains Watt and Hutchison positively denied telling Lieutenant Young that the Wanganui volunteers were willing to join the Wellington Encampment. WELLINGTON, March 3. Fire Insurance. The Fire Insurance Association of London have established a branch hero under the management of Mr T. J. Ladd, and are about to establish agencies throughout the colony. Masonic. Application is being made to the Provincial Grand Lodge, Irish Constitution, for a charter to establish here an Irish Lodge, to be called St. Patrick. Brother E. C. Hammerton, P.M., was nominated First Master, The Electric Light. Councillor N. Evans’ motion to invito tenders for the electric lighting of the city, is withdrawn in favor of a motion to aak the Agent-General to make full enquiries on the subject.
