On Tuesday, a match was played on the Association Ground by the Mayor and City Councillors against the ex-Councillors and citizens generally. There was a good deal of interest taken in the game, and a considerable number of ladies were present. The Mayor and bis team led off the ball, and succeeded iu patting together 160, of which Ayers made 19, H. Thomson, 61; Bowman, 12; Murray, 27 ; and Treleaven, 16. The other side, notwithstanding the noble exertions of the veteran Mr Willmer, only succeed.ed in ehalking 154, thus leaving the Mayor's army victoriona by six runs, as tho game was decided on tbe first inniegs. For the ex-Councillors, Hill made 30; Willmer, 30; Hall, 22 ; and F. Pavitt, 30. At the conclusion of the innings, a good deal more cricket was gone through, and finally some races between more particularly actively inclined Councillors and ex-Councillors brought a very eDJoyablo day to a conclusion.
