SALE OF OTAGO RUNS.

The sale of the Otago runs was continued today, and resulted in a total being realised of £6B 854, which is nea'ly doub e the upsets, the amount of the latter being £37,217 The bidding to-day was scarcely so brisk, several lots going' at the upset. Only three runs out of the 170 were passed in. The highest price to-day was £9lO, for one for which the upset was .£229. The whole original run, of which tha above lot was a' sub-division, was put up at the upset of £1435, and the total price realised was £1285. Two out of the nine sub divisions went to sew occupants, and in another case, in which the present holders re-bought the entire run of eight sub-divisions, the upset price Was £1257, and the price realised £3060. In another case of six subdivisions, at an upßet of £1457, the present holders re-purchased the whole at £3060. The lowest price obtained was the upset of £lO for 5500 acres—a sale which was greeted with congratulatory applause. The buyers to-day were solely of the runholding class, and it remains, as a result of the sale, that only in one case has what might be termed a email settler secured a run. Indeed, so far as could be ascertained, the bidding was mainly confined to the runholding class. The total result of the sole is : £ Price realised 68,854 Present rentals ... 24,659 Upßets 37,216 Three runs out of 170 are unsold.
