The various ship owning and ship chartering firms have made sure that the wheat from this part of the colony shall at least be tiecommodated with storage room, en route to market,' if Tequired. An examination of recent advertisements ahowa that fifty-five shipß are on'the berth as grain and wool ships, either for London or other European ports. Tbi3 al<sne meanß close upon 60,000 tons register, or quite 80,000 tons carrying capacity already announced for the season, without taking into account the estimated tonnage of the list of vessels "'to follow." There is not another port in New Zealand has anything worth naming that would compare with the shipping business winch the advertisements referred to imply. SHIPPING TELEGBAMS.
