I Owing lo the lage attendance at the sale of the leases of the Otago runs, the sale had to be postponed to the Garrison Hall, where 1500 were present, inoluding the Hon, R. Oliver, Messrs Shrimski, Barron, Driver and Fish, M.H.B.'s, and all the present lessees, It was stated that if any discrepancies oc curred in the acreage, as stated in the maps and advertisements, the Government would make no allowanoe. The bidding has been highly satisfactory so far, the prices realized being : —Maniototo Country—Bun 226, upset annual rental £3OO, £690, Messrs Keenan and Morgan being the purchasers; 226 A, upset price £336, John Bsberts ; 226 b, upset price £416, £730, Keenan and Morgan ; 226 c, upset price, £221, £350, Keenan and Morgan; 226 d, upset price £l4l, £3lO, Keenan and Morgan ; 228, upset price £4OO, £617, E. J. Spence; 228 a, upset prioe £25, £453, E. J. Spence ; 224, upset prioe £167, £230, F. G. Pogson ; 224 a, upset prioe £290, F. G. Pogson ; 224, upset prioe £265, £2BO, F. G. Pogson j 2240, upset price £123, £2lO, F. G. Pogson. Tho subdivision of run 224 was purohased by F. G. Pogson at an increase of 70 per cent, over the upset rental, and run 222 by the same purchaser at an increase of 80 par cent.
