CRICKET.
AMURI v. RANGIORA. A match was played on the Rangiora ground on Thursday between the above olubs, and resulted in a victory for the Rangiora Club by eight wiokets. The aoores were— Amuri, first innings, 39, of which Mitohell made 19; second innings, 28. Rangiora, first innings, made 58, of whioh Wright scored 14; in their sooond innings two wickets fell for 10 runs. For Rangiora Good bowled ten wickets for 24 runs, and Pickard nine wiokets for 22. For the Amuri team Chapman and Hilton bowled well. OARRIERS~v~ CABMEN. The annual matoh between the above took plaoe od Wednesday, 15th inst., on the Association Ground, and resulted in a victory for the Carriers by five wickets. The Cabmen in their combined efforts scored 102 runs, which total was reached by their opponents, with five wiokets to spare. For the Carriers W. H. Howard trundled exceedingly well, Booming in the first innings nine wiokets for 33 runs. Messrs Gagahan, Newton, and Berry, were the principal scorers for the Carriers. Stevens, Harris, and Datson, with bat and ball, played well for the Cabmen. The teams were well pleased with their day's outing, and returned home none the worse for their leather-hunting. The following will play for the Pbess in the annual match against the Timaru Press Club, to-morrow (Saturday), at Ashburton: Allardyoe, Asquith, Board, Coles, Oostley, Edmonds, Henwood, Maurice, O'Connor, Smith, and Whitford. Emergencies—Messrs Lowe, Bradwell, Brunton, Dollan, Meadows, Goodwin, and Neil. The team are requested to meet at the station at 8 o'clock to prooeed by the express. THE WANDERERS v CARISBROOK. [PBHBS ABBOOIATIOW TBXBGBAM.J DUNEDIN, February 23. The Wanderers played a match against the Cariabrook to-day. The soores were «—OaTisbrook, 149 in the first innings • Wanderers 56, and 90 for six wiokets. For the Carisbrook Oollinson played a grand innings for 65, only giving one chance. F. Fonwick, in the Wanderers' second innings, carried his bat out for 38 ; Btevens made 10, Edser 17, and B. Fenwiok 13. In the first innings Harman made 13. Edser bowled well, and took five wickets. Oarisbrook's bowling was good, Cook being almost unplayable.
