Every person carrying on the trade of a cowkeeper, duirjman, or purveyor of milk within the Christ-church Drainage District, shall register at the Office of the (Jhrigtchurch District Local Board of Health, his or her name and pl.ee of abode, and the situation of every dairy, cowi-hed. yard or milk store used by such person for the purposes of snch trade. The Chrißtchurch District Local Beard of ealth, hereinafter called the B:mrd, may from time to time appoint a person or persons, being duly qua.lhed medical praction r<, tobainspector or inspectors of milk and ot dairies, and such inspector or inspectors may from time to time be removed by the Board, who may appoint another like person or persons to serve in his or their stead. The Inspector of Milk and of Dairies may, between sunrise and sunset, enter into and upon any premises used as a dairy, or cowshr 3, or yard, in the occupation of any person fellowing the trade of a cowkeeper or dairyman, or used by them in connection with snch c jenpation, and may examine the condition thereof and of any cattle found thereon for the purpose of reporting on the same to the Board ; and the Board being satisfied that it is necessary or ex cdient, may give written notice requiring the occupier r.f any such premises to take such measures for the immediate or future lighting-, Venti f*'"" »l«"»»» rfioinono •nJn.fn.nm.l. of sue The Inspector of Milk and of Dairies may, batween sunrise and f unset, enter in f > and upon any milk stores or milkshops, or may, wherever found, examine any milk vessels used for containing milk for sale by persons carrying on the trade of cowkeepera, dairj men, or purveyors of milk, and Bach persons shall, on being required to do so by the Hoar a have such stores, shops, aad vesseis cleaned and kept cleansed in such manner as the Board may prescribe. Any cowkceper or dairyman having in his possession any cattle which shall ha declared by the Inspector of Milk and of Dairies to be suffering from any disease, or to be in each a condition as that the milk derived from such cattle will be likely if dispensed to endanger public health, shall, on being required so 13 do by the Board, isolate such cattle from his other stock, and shall not mix the milk from such cattle with that obtained from his other stock. No cowkeeper or dairymen shall use for any dairy purposes, or allow his cattle to drink any water declared by the Board as unfit to be used for such purposes. No person sick of an infectious disease, or having recently been in contact with infectious sickness, shall take part in the production, dietribution or storage of milk. and of Dairies, or of any only qualified medical practitioner, that the milk supplied by any cowkeeper, dairyman, or purveyor of c itk is likely if used to endanger the public health, the Board may by writing prohibit the sale of such milk for such period as may be thought expedient, or until evidence is produced to the satisfaction of the Board that such danger no longer exists. > o prison shall supply or dispense for public use any mi.k the ace of which has been prohibited. No cowkeeper, dairyman, or other person shall allow any accumulation of dnng or other refuse to remain near any building used by him or her for storing milk. Every cowkeeper, dairyman, or purveyor of milk shall limewash the inner walls and ceilings of n 1 dairies and milk shops, iu his or her occupation or used by him or her, once every month, and shall scrub and <1 ai the njors of such dairies and milk shops regularly. Every cowkeeper, dairyman, or purveyor of nilk, shall wash all vessels in his or her possesion, and used for the reception or delivery of milk, with soda and water, and shall scald the same after each time of being used. No milk shall be stored in any bu : lding which communicates with either door or window with the inhabited portion of any house. No cesspit shall be allowed on the pramisea of any cowkeeper, dairyman, or purveyor of milk. No swine shall be kept within one hundred feet of any building used as a dairy, milkshop, or cowshed. Any person neglecting to comply with the foregaing regulations, or obstructing the Inspector of Milk and of Dairies in the discharge of his duties, or refusing to carry out the requirements of the Board in relation to any of the matters above set forth, will be liable to prosecution under the provisions of Part 11. of the The Public Health Act, 1876.
