The International ExhibitionAt a meeting of the City Oounoil the following resolution was passed :—" That the town olerk acknowledge the reoeipt of the circular from the president of the Christohuroh Exhibition, and in reply intimate that the City Council takes the deepest interest in all matters calculated to develope the resources and foster the industries, and advance the general welfare of the colony, and that whatever articles the City Connoil may have for exhibition will be forwarded, and that exhibitors will be oordially invited to assist with their contributions, so that Wellington may be fairly represented in the courts set apart for the several distriots of the colony." Volunteer Encampment. At a meeting of Volunteer officers, an unanimous decision was come to that the proposed Easter enoampment should be held in the neighborhood of Wellington. It was decided to telegraph to the officers commanding the distriots of Wanganui, Napier, Picton, Blenheim, Nelson, Christehuroh, and Wairarapa, asking their co-operation in the proposed soheme. DUNEDIN, February 17. Found Dead. A man named Bell, the son of a miner at Saddle Hill, wbb found lying in a state of unconsciousness a short distance from his home, and died shortly afterwards. He had been suffering from measles. Hallway Tender. The tender of Daniel McKondry for the first section of the Windsor-Livingstone railway has been aocepted for £4807. Piscatorial. The Acclimatisation Sooiety was advised by oable yesterday of a shipment of Looh Leven trout. Sporting. There is no betting worth mentioning on the ruces.
