Mails close at the Chief Post Offioe for the following places (subject to the necessary alterationi) as ander : SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18. For Westport, per Star of the South, at 9.40 a.m. ; late fee letters, 9.50 a.m.; guard's van. 10 25 a.m. train. For Westport. per Beautiful Star, at 11.30 a m.; late fee letters, 11.40 a.m. ; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. srain. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 7.15 p.m. The guard's van must not bo used for this mail. Notice.—Penny duty stamps may in future be use as postage stamps, and penny pos.age Btamps may be affixed to receipts in place of duty stamps. Note.—Property Tax is now payable at the Money-order Department of the Chief Post Office, Christchurch. SYDNEY J. DICE, Chief Postmaster.
