Messrs Unary and Campbell report that plums brought 5s 6d to 7s 6d per half case; Melbourne pears were sold as high as 12s 6d ; green sorts were quite neglected; ripatone pippins from Melbourne wore sold at 8s 6d and 9a per case; Nelson apples brought 4s 6d to 8s 6d; poaches, in fine order, realised 10s to 11s par case ; fresh butter brought 8d per lb. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. The variable nature of the weather during the past week has given farmers considerable anxiety, and their endeavor to get their produce sofely in stack has prevented many visiting town, tho result being that only a few transactions hnve_ taken pla-e. Wheat varies considerably in quality, and has been sold at from 3s lOd for low grade, up to 4a 3d for beat Tuscan. Fiour is nommally unchanged, bat there is no business of moment doing. Oats are in fair demand at 2s for good quality, but so far very few have been on offer. First-class malting barley is inquired for, but there appears to be none offering; medium is, however, changing hands at froin 3s to 3a 3d, Grass seeds find ready sale at 3a Cd fur rye and 3£d for cocksfoot. The quantity offering is exceedingly limited, but no doubt this will be altered era long, when threshing becomes general. Cheese is in moderate demand at 4id, and there is a good inquiry for batter at TJd.
