The Rules of the Caledonian Society of Otago have been adopted, but, when necessary, the Boles of any game may be altered to suit the , competition. Entries for the Handicap Races to bo mode in writing addressed to the Hon. Sec., care of Mr Hugh M‘Lean, Crown Hotel, Amberley, not later than 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 4th, accompanied by the necessary amount in cash. All other entries will be received on the ground on the morning of the gathering. COMPETITION. Two competitors or no first prize, three or no second (exception Bagpipe music). Should only one piper come forward for the Bagpipe competition, he will, if competent, be entitled to and receive the first prize. Competitors in all races to start by report of pistol. On no account will youths under sixteen years of age be allowed to compete with men. Dress—Usual athletic costume. Prize money will be paid on day of Gathering. Admission to Ground, One Shilling; Children free ; Members, with family, free, on showing tickets. Games to commence at eleven o’clock sharp. Refreshments of all kinds on the ground.
