THE EXHIBITION.

Mr Twopeny has received by the mail further advices respecting exhibits for the forthcoming Exhibition from Europe and Australia, Erom London the ad—vices received mention that considerable interest appears to be excited in Great Britain respecting the Exhibition, so much so that forty bays were taken up to the 15th Decern* ber, and the London agents intimate that at least ten additional will be taken before the time tor closing. With regard to British machinery, the agents were unable to state the space required, as a number of the English manufacturers were making applies* tion through their Christchurch agents. Boughly speaking, however, it may be estimated that the machinery portion here will be twice as large as at Adelaide. As to Continental exhibits,“ltaly takes four bays, including decorations, statuary, &c., and tho court promises to equal, if not surpass, that in Sydney. The principal exhibits comprise Venetian glass, coral work, filagree jewellery, cameos, oils, wines, and straw goods. Austria has taken a fair amount of space todate, and the exhibits will include Bohemian glass, Viennese porcelain and china ware. Switzerland has taken three bays, which will be a larger representation than at Sydney, and the exhibits sent will be thoroughly representative. Mr Engster, who waa Executive Commissioner for Switzerland at Sydney and Melbourne, will represent tho Swiss exhibitors here. Ee has also a mission to report upon the capabilities of New Zealand as to facilities for Swiss emigration and settlement here. France and Germany will be fairly represented, and Japan will have a court. India also sends agricultural produce, ivory carvings, carpets, mats, 40. There will be a very good exhibition of china and glassware in the British courts. In glass tho ■ exhibitors will be Messrs Tbos. Webb and Sons, of Blinburgh, and in china the Worcester Company, Wedgwood, Brown, Westhead, Moore and Co,, Thos. Berrington and Sons, and the Belleek Pottery Company.
