New Zealand securities remain at the following quotations :—Five Per Cent. 10-40 Loan, 1041; Five Per Cent. 1889 Loan, 104; Pour and a-hal£ Per Cent. 18791904 Loan, 101-f. The market rate of discount has advanced to 5-J per cent., the Bank rate being 6 per cant. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, has declined to 555; New Zealand ditto remains at 53e ; Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 4Ss. Australian tallow—Best beef, 42s ; bast mutton, 48s per cwt. A small portion of the cargo of frozen mutton brought by the steamship Cnzeo was sold by auction to-day, and realised an average of 6d per lb. The remainder is- being landed at the Pool. The meat is- considered to have been badly prepared for shipment. The total stock of tallow in London on the Ist inst. was 5500 casks. CAIRO, February 6. Egyptian Affairs. Mahomed Pasha, the new President of the Egyptian Council of Ministers, paid a visit to-day to the British representative, Sir E. B. ITalet. In the course of I the interview the Premier took occasion to reassure the British Ambassador with regard to the policy of the new Ministry. The Khedive received a deputation of officers of the army to-day, at which -SOO were present. The- officers tendered their thanks to His- Highness for the confidence he had displayed in the National party, and assured him of the fidelity of the military forces. Later. It has transpired that the programme of the new Cabinet will be marked byrespect for the existing international contracts, and by the fulfilment of the national debt budget engagements, asintimated by the resolution recentlypassed by the Assembly of'Notables. ADEN, February 6. The Arabian Rebellion. Further intelligence to hand fully confirms the fact of the outbreak against Turkish rule in the Province of Yemen, Southern Arabia, and states that the rebellion ia assuming alarming proportions, and rapidly spreading- throughout the province.
