Walter Hartnall, who had been remanded for medical treatment, was now brought up as recovered from the effects of exo ssive drinking. He was fined ss, and ordered to pay 9s, the coat of his treatment while in Addington Gaol. Wm. Higgins, charged with drunkenness, was remanded till February 11th. Civil Case."!. —Naylor v Smart. This was a claim for £1 4». Defendant was sued as chairman of the Steam Laundry Company for a week's wages due to plaintiff. Defendant repudiated any responsibility for debts due by the company. Plaintiff was nonsuited, with costs.—Pankhurst v Culliford, elaim £3 10s for rent of a slaughter-house and paddock. Defendant denied having rented the , premises, and plaintiff being unable to prove the contract, judgment was given for defendant with costs.—Dale v Mather, claim £2 for board and lodging ; judgment for plaintiff with costs. Judgments went for plaintiffs by default in Weedon and Co. v Bliss, 10s ; Turner v Bliss, £lO ; Pepperil v Thomas, £5 ; Suffolk Brewery Company v Linney, lis; v Thomas, 16s ; v Rosßiter, 12s ; v Isherwood, 12s ; v Wakefield, 6a; and v Pepper, £2 18a ; Duggan v Peneelly, £3 3s Id. Judgment was for plaintiff without dispute in Hopper v Gates, £1 6j 9d.
