WELLINGTON, January 26. The following are the vital statistics for December
The deaths of persons not resident in the boroughs and occurring at the hospitals have been excised in all cases. The total births in the above boroughs amounted to 401, against 447 in November, being a decrease of 46. The deaths amounted to 155 in December, being an increase of 11 on number for November. Of the above deaths males contributed 84 and females 71. One-fourth of the deaths were children under five yearn, being 47.74 per cent, of the whole number. 53 of these were children under one year.
