A serious railway collision occurred te-day near Hornsey, resulting in the death of two passengers and serious injuries to twenty others. Reinforcements for Ireland. The election in the representation of North Yorkshire for the seat rendered vacant by the death of Viscount Helmsley, Conservative, took place to-day, and resulted in the return of Mr Dawanay (sic), Conservative, by a narrow majority only over his opponent, a tenant farmer. WASHINGTON, January 25. Guiteau Found Guilty* The trial of Guiteau was concluded to-day, and resulted in the prisoner being found “ Guilty ” of the murder of President Garfield.
