[eeutee’s telegrams.] SYDNEY, January 17. ShippingSailed—Yesterday afternoon, Union Company’s s.s. Wakatipu, for Wellington. The Wreck of the Wotonga. The inquiry into the wreck of the steamship Wotonga was concluded yesterday. The Marine Board found that the captain steered a wrong course, and that the mate who was in charge at the time of the accident should have summoned the captain. Both have been called upon to show cause why their certificates should not be suspended. The hearing of this charge will commence next Monday. Smallpox. The two smallpox patients among the Garonne’s passengers in quarantine here are progressing favorably. ADELAIDE, January 17. Mrs Dale, one of the Garonne’s passengers in quarantine here, has caught smallpox. The other sufferer continues to make satisfactory progress towards recovery.
