Special practice will be held on Wedneuday and Thursday, from 4 p.m, to half-past six whoa the Eighteen will take the field. LANCASTER PARK v MIDLAND. The return match between these two clubs was finished cn Saturday, and resulted in a somewhat easy victory for the Midland, as they scored a win with eight wickets to the good. The result of the previous Saturday’s play had been that Lancaster Park made 63 and the M'dland 118 for their respective first innings, so that the former went to the wickets on Saturday with 55 to the bad. Their three first men shaped uncommonly well, and there seemed a prospect that even if the match were not pulled out of tho fire, a close fight might after all eventuate. But with the disappearance of W. P. Reeves from off the eoene, the side collapsed, indeed Messrs Wilding, Million, and Beeves made 95 out of a total of 111 runs. Beeves’ 41 was put together without a chance, and was perhaps the best piece of cricket he has shown this year, as Fuller was bowling very straight, and with a great break on. The only chance for Lancaster Park then was by very straight bowling to prevent the Midland getting the requisite number of runs before time was called, but their trundlera were by no means on the wicket, and Buchanan made mincemeat of their lo.ig hops to the off and on, the runs consequently being made with plenty of time to spare. The following is the score : L. P. 0.0. First Innings. Second Innings.

M. 0.0. v L.P 0.0., SECOND ELEVENS. This match was concluded on Saturday on the Midland ground, ending, as the play on the previous Saturday showed that it probably would, in the Lancaster Parkites being defeated in one innings. The Park made 63 and 123 in their two innings, while the Midland made 197 in their first innings. On Saturday, the principal players who ran the score up for the Midland from 170, where it was the previous Saturday, to the full total, were Hargreaves with 14 and Whiting with 10, run out. For the L.P.0.0. in their second innings, G. Reeves made 25, E. Harley 12, and Dunlop 42 not out. ADDINGTON v AN ELEVEN OF THE TJ.0.0. This match was concluded on Saturday on the Association ground, and ended in a draw, the match not being played out. On the previous Saturday, the U. 0.0. had put together 129 for their first innings, while the Addington had commenced merrily by scoring 80 with no wicket down. However, on Saturday the Addington did not carry out their evident intention of making an abnormal score, but consented to being dismissed for the comparatively small total of 153. The TJ.0.0. men then want in, and when time was called, had put together 111, with nine wickets down. For Addington, Ogier made 63 and O. Taylor 34. For the U. 0.0. in their second innings, the principal scorers were Raker, 35; Chapman, 30; Helmore.il; andPixley, 12. A match was played on Saturday between the Rangiora 0.0. and North Canterbury School Teachers, on the ground of the former. The scores made were—Bangiora, first innings, 76; Teachers, first innings, 25 ; second do, 55. Tho Bangiora Club then want in to obtain five runs, which they did with tho loss of one wicket, and therefore scored the victory. A similar match last season was won by the Teachers by ten runs. A matoh was played on Saturday between tho Lincoln road and Ricoarton Cricket Clubs, on tho ground of the latter, resulting in a win for the Lincoln road team on the first innings. Ricoarton in their first innings scored 33, Lincoln road 46. The chief scorers were M. Oassin 10 and W. Oassin 6 for Biooarton : T. Polo 8, O. Seager 7, and A. Dixon G for Lincoln road. The bowling power rested in McGregor, who secure 1 seven wickets for Ricoarton, and A. Dixon seven wiukets for Lincoln road.
