MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Foot Office for the following places (subject to the necessary altentioni) as under : SATUBDAY, JANUABY 14. For Wanganui, per ct. Kilda, at 9.40 a.m.. ; late fee letters, 9.50 a.m.; guard's van, 10.25a.m. train. For Otago, per Southern Cross, at 8 p.m. For Northern ports, per Penguin, at 8 p.m. The guard's van mn't not be used for mails per Southern Cross and Penguin. The nest mail for the United Kingdom, via. San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on Saturday, January 28th, and will be due in London on March 13th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
