MAGISTERIAL.
CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday, Janttaby 11. [Before Caleb Whltefoord, Esq., R.M., R. Westenra, and H H. Frins, Esqs., J.P.’s] Vagbanoy.— F. W. Oldman, a partially paralysed and imbecile young man, to whom admission to Sunnyside has always been refused, but who has boon in gaol several times on the same charge, was brought up, and on the representations of Sergeant Mason, was committed to Lyttelton for another term of six months. The Magistrate said this course was taken more that he should bo taken care of than anything else, there being no other institution to which he could be sent.
Peotection Obdbe. Josephine Montgomery applied for an order protecting her earnings from her husband, Thomas Samuel Montgomery, and for the custdoy of her two children. She stated that he had for some time neglected to provide for their maintenance, and was addicted to drunkenness. The defendant did not appear. The order was made as prayed, and defendant was further ordered to pay £1 per week for the maintenance of his family.
