Mails close at the Chief Post Office for tht following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : _ , , WEDNESDAY, JANUAEY 11. . For Australian colonies, per express tram to Port Chalmers (connecting with Eingarooma), For Kaikoura, per Tui, at 4.20 p m.; late fee letters, 4 35 p m. ; guard’s van, 5.25 pvn. tram. THURSDAY. JANUARY 12. For Northern porta, per Arawata, at 1.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2 p m.; guard s van, 2.40 p.m. train. The next mail for the United I?Linpdom, via San Franciaoo, will be closed at Christchurch on Saturday, January 28th, and will be duo in London on March 13th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
