CRICKET.
L.P.0.0. T M.C.0.0. The return match between the above clubs •was oommenoed on Saturday, and, owing to the small scores obtained on both tides, twoinningswere finished jast at call of timer. The Lancaster Park Olub winning the toes Bent in Stevens and Million, neither of whom stayed long. Wicket after wicket fell rapidly, and at four wickets down the score stood at S runs. F. Loughnan joined Eseveo, and made a good stand, both playing carefully and well. Atack, who had been bowling very well indeed but unsuccessfully, was changed for Fairhurst, who in his first over was pasted for 9, but the first ball of the second over bowled lioughnan, and the end soon came, the total being 63 runs, Beeves being not out 37, for which he showed very good cricket. The fielding of the M.0.C.0. was good all round, and a great contrast to their former efforts in this department, Fowke especially showing good form. Watson and Lodge were first to represent the Midland Club, hut neither stayed long. Watson snicked a bumpy one into slip's hands, and Lodge was clean bowled. J. Fowler was bowled by a half volley. Fowke and Strange made a deter* mined stand, both showing good form. Unfortunately Strange was run out, and Fowke suffered in the same w»y through a. misunderstanding between himself and Ataok. The latter hit about merrily for his 27. Washer did not eeem at home, but succeeded in getting double figures. The innings closed for 118 runs, being 55 to the good. Wilding bowled well, but was not so successful as Taylor, being rather short for so true a wicket. The game will be resumed at a quarter to two sharp next Saturday. MIDLAND t LANCASTER PARK SECOND ELEVENS. While the first elevens of these clubs were trying conclusions, the second elevens were also meeting on the tented field, to wit, the Association ground. The Lancaster Park men did not retrieve the failure of the first eleven, seeing that all their wickets fell for the small score of 63, while the Midland pot together 170, with, only six wickets down. For Lancaster Park G. Loughnan scored 14, Lane 14, Grant 10, and Hassal 12. For the M. 0.0. Horner secured 69, Bailey 24, So© 24, Bell 24, and Whiting 13, not out. ADDINGTOBT v AsTeLSTBN OF THE U. 0.0. This match was oommenoed on Saturday on the association ground. The U. 0.0. put together 129 for their first innings, of which Baker made 21, Pixley 21, B. Harman 31, 33. J. Ross 21/ and Griffith 11. When the stumps were drawn the Addington men had made 80 with no wicket down, Ogier scoring 37, not out, and Taylor 27, not out. The fielding of the U. 0.0. was loose in the extreme, and Menem Taylor ,and Ogier Beemell capable of getting a run whenever they took it into their heads to do so, quite irrespective of where the ball might happen to go. We understand that the selection committee will meet at the City Hotel on Saturday evening Wohoose the team to play against the English Eleven.
