Mr Joyce appeared for the defendant. The police stated that the case was not ready, and a remand was granted till January 6fh. Bail was allowed, prisoners in £SO each, and 1 two sureties in £25 each. Neglected Childben. —Wn, Jos. Cross, Charles Edwin Cross, and Walter John Oros aged six, four, and two years respectively, were charged with being neglected children within the moaning of the Act. These were the children of the accused in the case of larceny from the person noted above. They were brought into Court by their mother,who declared that they had never been neglected. She was, however, willing to have the two eldest eont to Burnham, and she would pay 10s perjueek for them. The Mcg’strato said there were a good many who would like to get rid of their children in that manner. Sergeant Mason said this was a case in which the children should be taken away from their parents. The case was adjourned till Friday next, to wait the issue of the charge against the parents. 1
