KOWAI PASS SPORTS.
Thcss annual aporti were held in the Recreation Beserve, Kowai Fats, on Boxing Day. r Xhe attendance of the public was much less numerous than on previous years, which may possibly be accounted for by the heat of the day, which was tropical, until the afternoon, when a refreshing breeze sprang up from the east. The committee utilized the Kowai Fass Jookey Club's grand stand as a grand stand and a rostrum for the band, and it was fairly patronized by the public. The tug of war, which, ever since its introduction, has t'alwajslbeen the centre of attraction, was won easily by the Malvern team by two goals to nothing. We cannot help mentioning that the untiring efforts of Messrs B. J. 8 hanks, secretary; J. A. Cunningham, judge; and £l. H.
