Tbeuteb's telegrams.] MELBOURNE, December 28. The Overland Line Down. The Australian overland telegraph line is interrupted between Port Darwin and Adelaide. A violent thunderstorm and hurricane which passed over Central Australia are supposed to be the causes of the interruption. Shipping. Arrived—P. and O. Company's steamship Surat, with tho inward mail via Suez and Brindisi, dated London, November 18th. Sailed, this afternoon—Te Anau, s.s., for tho Bluff. Correction. The Merchant Shipping and Underwriters' Association, through whom the original telegram was received, now report that it was the ship Portland, from Timaru to Lendon, and not tho Waipa, which went ashore at Dunkirk on the 22 nd inst.
