OAEISBEOOKv THE WANDI'P.EES. This match was on Wednesday on the Hagley Park and from their play it is evident JpA the Carisbrook men were taken by e on Monday and Tuesday by the fastness of the Lancaster Park ground, fi«r upper ground they were quite at some of them showed very good The Wanderers were the first- to go to the stumps, and were disposed ofvfor the small score of 80. Indeed tho bowling of Cook appeared to be all too J many for them, none of them putting togethor a long score. The players who made double figures were Beeves 14, Longden 14, T. D. Horman 11, and Stevens 12 not out. On the Carisbrook taking the willow it was at once evident that they were not easily to bo disposed of, Hose playing very steadily and well, and when he was joined by Spring the two began to pilo up tho runs heavily. Ease made his 41 in very good style, but the prettiest innings of the day was that of Bpr*g, w'no scored 30 and was finally run out by 3 smart piece of fielding on the part 0.. Cha/>man. Spring was missed in the slips tHV A*y first ball, but this was the only blemish in a very good performance, Of the other Caridbrookians, Austin was tho top scorer with 21. We must not omit to mention a very, fine catoh made by T. D. Harman at long-lef, who disposed of Collinson at a oritical period of the game. The total score of the whole eleven was 131, a much better result that was at one time expeoted, for on the fall of three wickets only 78 figured on the board. The Wanderers tried pretty nearly all their bowling, including Ashby's I slows, bu'. the visitors hit the trundlers with considerable impartiality.
