MELBOURNE, December 27. Intercolonial Cricket.
The cricket match between elevens o£ Victoria and New South Wales was concluded to-day, and resulted in a victory for the Victorians by two wickets. Tho New South Wales eleven in their second innings, which they had followed on, scored 215. The Victorians made tho required number of runs, 139, with tho loss of nine wickets, and thus won tho match as already stated. SYDNEY, December 27. Smallpox. Another case of small pox has occurred at Woolloomooloo. The Russian War Ship. Arrived—Russian man-of-war Africa from Auckland. BRISBANE, December 27. Ministerial Changes. It is stated that Mr Archibald Archer will in all probability shortly be appointed to tho Colonial Secretaryship, rendered vacant by the election of Sir Arthur Palmer to tho Presidency of the Legislative Council, the portfolio being temporarily held by the Hon. Thomas Mcllraith, JPrfimier.
