MAIL NOTICES.

Moils close at the Chief Poet Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alteration!) as under : "WEDNESDAY, DECEMBEB 28. For the United Kingdom and Continent of Enrope, via Brindisi (specially addressed correspondence only), to connect with Orient steamer at Melbourne, Australian Colonies, per Express train, connecting with Botomahana, at Port Chalmers, at 7 a.m. THUBSDAY, DECEMBEB 29. For Otago, per Wanaka, at 11.30 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.40 a.m.; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Bingarooma, at 1.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 31. For United Kingdom, Continents of Enrope and America, West Indies, Cape ot Good II ope, Natal, &c. (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, and Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Wanaka as follows : —Ordinary letters at 6.30 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, at 6.30 p.m. ; money orders at 3 p.m.; registered correspondence, at 5 p.m.; guard's van, 8.10 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London on February 14th. Notice.—Monday, 2nd January, will bo kept as Post Offioe holiday, and the offices will open for one hour only, namely, from 9 to 10 a.m., for sale of stamps and registration and delivery of letters. The chief office will open from 8 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, 31et instant, for delivery of letters to applicants, as there will be no delivery by letter carriers on the following Monday. SYDNEY J.
