Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the tallowing plaoei (subject to the nooosEary alterations) as tinder TUESDAY, DECEMBER 27. For Otago, per Botomahana, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m,; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 1.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 28. For the United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, via Brindisi (specially addressed correspondence only), to connect with Orient steamer at Melbourne, Australian Colonies, per Express train, connecting with Botomahana, at Pert Chalmers, at 7 a.m. Notice. —Monday, 2nd January, will be kept as Post Office holiday, and the offices will open for one hour only, namely, from 9 to 10 a.m., for sale of stamps and registration and delivery of letters. The chief office will open from 8 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, 31st instant, for delivery of letters to applicants, as there will be no delivery by letter carriers on the following Monday. SYDNEY J.
