[By Tblbobaph.J [Per s.s. Ringarooma, at the Bluff.J MELBOURNE, December 20. Mr Francis Ormond, the donor of £95,000 to the Anglican Cathedral fund, also gives £6OOO for the establishment of the Working Men’s College. The sum of £7OOO is still deficient before Mr Ormond’s gift towards the Cathedral fund can bo claimed at the end of the year. The Bishop is making strong efforts to secure the amount. A female go-as-you-please has been stopped by the police. The magistrates refused to license the building. Tbo dispute between Professors Elkington and Manson has been amicably settled without resorting to Police Court proceedings. The Proto takes home 3500 frozen sheep. A sentence of ten years has been passed on a larrikin for an assault by Justice Williams, and is highly commented on.
