CRICKET.
Oa Friday an .Association match of the Eleven v the next Fifteen was played on the Hiigley Part ground. This match was looked forward to with considerable interest, for, in view of the approaching fight with the All England team, it was felt desirable to see how our eleven would shape against the best fifteen that could be brought against them. The result of the game on Friday certainly showed that some of our leading players are sadly out of form, for the wiokota of the Eleven went down with a startling rapidity, and they were considerably beaten by their opponents, only scoring 68 sgaiust 194 made by the Fifteen. Indeed the good play lay certainly with the Fifteen, soma of whom showed excellent cricket, as the Eleven’s bowlers were well on the spot, especially Fuller, who trundled exceedingly well. The fielding of the Eleven also was well up to the mark. For the Fifteen Fairhurst and Chapman were never taken off, proving quite sufficient to dispose of the enemy. THE FIFTEEN.
