The principle of local option wn b farther debated in the Assembly and adjourned for a week. A Bill for the abolition of pensions passed through committee in the Assembly and will not affect the interests of any person at present in the service. The Bill brought in to suppress gambling by sweeps met with opposition and is postponed.
The (revenue returns received daily at the Customs are very satisfactory. On the 6tb, £10,780 was received, which is the largest amount ever received for one day.
