Mamelnke 1 Flageolet 2 Butterfly 0 Nigger 0 Time, 2min 58 J sec. Maiden Plate— One and a-half miles. Brower 1 Flageolet 2 Alice 3 Time, 2min 58Jsec, Southland Cdp — Two miles. Tasman 1 Volunteer ... 2 Adamant was scratched. Time, nearly s£min. Southland Hussar Plate— Once round the course. Plonghboy 1 Eight others started. District Selling Race —Once round the course. Kingbird 1 Tom King 2 Patch also started. A Hack Selling race and Hurry Scurry closed the day’s sports. NORTH CANTERBURY RACES. The following nominations were received on Saturday:— Open Hurdles. —Albion, Fairplay, Agent, Young Diomedes, Hope. District Hurdles. Young Diomedes, Norman, The Lad, Barbery.
