Mails dose at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16. For Akaron, per Penguin, at 6 a m. For Northern Porta, per Go-Ahead, at 11.30 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.40 a.m.; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. For utago, per Penguin, at 7. 1 5 pm. The guard's van must not be need for this mail. SATUBDAY. DECEMBEE 17. For Northern Ports, per Uawea, at 7.15 p.m. The guard's Tan must not be used for this mail. Notice.—On and after Nov. 1, 1881, money orders will be issued in New Zealand payable at any town in Germany, and after Ist Jannarr next Money Orders will be issued in New Zealand payable in the Uaited States of America. Postage stamps may now be nsed for stamping receipts under the Stamp Act, 1875, but receipt stamps are not accepted in payment of postages. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Poatmaaier.
