OHBISTOHUROH. Satubday, Dbcbmbbb 10. [Before G-. L. Mellish, Esq,, B.M ] Dhunkekness.—James Parr was fined 10s and ordered to pay Is cab hire. Jane Kinley was fined 10s ; cab hire, Is 6d. For a first offence a man Was fined 5s and cab hire Is. Daniel Burke, charged with lunacy from drink, was, on the evidence of Drs. Byrnes and Ned will, sent to the Lunatic Asylum. Sunbtbokb. —Thomas Wilson, who had been brought up on December 3rd and remanded as a lunatic from drink, and who was then Buffering so severely as to be unable to get into Court without assistance, was again brought up and seemed to be in good health. Mr Boston, in whose custody he had been during the remand, stated that he did not think the case had been the result of intemperance, Dr. Nedwill stated that, when brought to him, the accused was apparently suffering from sunstroke or some kind of a fit. John Parry, a carrier, stated that he had known accused for a long time ; he was very temperate, and had been subject to attacks which left him in the state in which he was found by the police. On hearing this evidence Wilson was discharged without conviction. Labobkv. —Thos. Reid was charged with stealing a blanket, valued at 4s, from the boarding-house of T. Ring, Manchester street, on December Bth. He had been living there, and, when leaving, had taken the blanket, leaving a worse one in its place. Prisoner said it had been a mistake. The Magistrate said that by the records prisoner seemed to be given to making such mistakes. He did not wish to make a regular gaol bird of him, and would, this time, only inflict a nominal penalty ; but, if ever he made his appearance there again he would get six months’ imprisonment. Sentence, twenty-four hours* imprisonment with hard labour.
