On Saturday tho match between the U. 0.0. and Lancaster Park Clubs was commenced on the Hagloy Park ground, the latter going in first. The first over was a singular one—W. Milton was run out from a hit made off the first ball, then three wides were given and a four was scored, three of which consisted of overthrows. After this irregular opening the game proceeded, much against the Lancaster Park Ulub until the arrival of Wilding, when runs began to come fast. This player, with Reeves, made a determined stand, and when separated tho complexion of affairs was completely changed. McDonald and H. Loughnan followed with good scores, and the innings finally closed for the very respectable total of 162. Of theso Reeves contributed 43, Wilding 40, McDonald 23, and H, Loughnan 11. TheU.O.O. then took the wicket, and when time was called had made 48, with four wiokets down. Oorfo was tho principal scorer, with 23, Ho was well caught at deep square leg by H. Loughnan. The match will be continued next Saturday. A full score will be given on the completion of the game. On tho ground of the M. 0.0. the eleven of that club tried conclusions with the next eighteen. Tho Eleven wont in first and made 128, of which Strange contributed 34, Fowler 24, Fowke 23, Fuller 13, and Watson 20 not out. The Eighteen had just commenced their innings when the stumps were drawn. Tho match will be continued next Saturday. Ou tho College ground the Eleven of the College played the Addington Club. The result was a draw, tho first innings not being played out, and the match being only a one day’s affair, owing to the College breaking up so soon. Addington went in first, and totalled 93, Wheatley, Baker and Turner all scoring, the latter putting together 38. The College then wont in, and when time was called had made 78, with eight wickets down. Of theso 25 fell to Bridge and 15 to W. Ootterill. On the Lancaster Park ground the second eleven of the U. 0.0. and Lancaster Park Clubs tried conclusions. Tho scoring was not heavy, the U. 0.0. only putt rg together 68 for their first innings, and the Lancaster Park 62 for theirs. For the U. 0.0. Wood made 14 and R Harman 14. For the Lancaster Park Souter and Meurice were tho most successful operators. The U O.C. then commenced their second innings, and scored 36 with one wicket down when the stumps were drawn Of these R. Harman made 22 not oat. Tne match will be resumed next Saturday.

To-morrow, a match will bo played on the Association ground, which is looked forward to with some interest interest iu certain circles. Tho Operatic Company will pit themselves against a team representing tho Press of Christchurch. As tho former are known to have some excellent players amongst their number a good contest may be expect, d. The following are the teams Press—Messrs Atack (2), Mainwaring, Sims, Smith, Cant, Asquit*, Brunt, Hassal, Connor, and French. Opera—Messrs Turner, Farley, Gordon, Hall (captain), Thompson (2), Dovoreaux, Cox, Shannon, Gorman, Balfour ; emergency, Benham. The match will begin at 11.30 a.m., and we have been requested to state that there will be no lunch on the ground.
