HEATHCOTE ROAD BOARD.
The above Board met on Friday last at 10 a.m. Present—the chairman and all the members. The clerk was instructed to write to the Drainage Board ro Buckley’s road, the Canal reserve, and Ferry road. It was resolved to call for tenders to form road by McGregor’s and Keighley’s, cloying Lower Fiat road, and for carting metal and screenings. The clerk reported the receipts to be £4B Is. Mr W. Thorne made application for some pipes across road by his place. The chairman and Mr Dryden to inspect. The following correspondence was road and dealt with. From Messrs J. and A. Anderson re Badley’s bridge, giving guarantee required by Board. From the Tramway Company, stating they would commence to lay the line on the 21st inst. From Mr E. J. T. Ford, enclosing copy of title for widening of Eiver road given by Mrs Birle. From Mr W. Dale, asking for some earth by his place ; granted subject to the supervision of the foreman. From Mr B. Taaffe, reporting on the swing bridges ; received. From Mr S. Martindalo, enclosing certificate of No. 2 bridge. From the Solwyn County Council, stating that the amount applied for for bridges and other works would be paid to the credit of the Board. From Mr J. Patterson re rock at Sumner; the clerk to reply. From Mr O. A. Gawen re lamp on Stanmoro road ; agreed to. From Messrs J. M. Heywood and Co. re driving horses ; the clerk was instructed to see them, also to report the matter to the police. From the Drainage Board re exchange of road on Sandhills ; to be invited to meet the Board on the ground on Tuesday, the 29th inst., at 10 30 a.m. From the Key. Merton re remission of rates for several persons ; deferred to next Board day. After passing accounts for £774 13s 9d, the Board adjourned.
