ROAD BOARDS.

AVON. The Board met on November 21st. Present—The Chairman and Messrs Dunlop, Ooopor and Muuro. The reports of the surveyor and foreman of works were read and considered, Resolved—" That if the gates on Turner's estate cause any obatruotion they are to be immediately removed by the Board's men." The clerk was instructed to reply to Mr T, S. .Lambert that the Board cannot entertain the proposition of draining through private property. An offer was received through the surveyor from Mr Saelling to form portion of the Bottle Lake road. Resolved—" That the Board cannot see its way to do anything at present." A deputation of the Board was appointed, with the surveyor, to visit the siding lately put aoross the road at Belfast. Messrs Guthrie and Wilson interviewed the Board and asked to have the road fronting their properties formed. The deputation were requested to inspect the road when at Belfast. Letters were reoeived— From the Government re subsidy paid in 5 from the Inspector of Police in reply to letter sent; from Mr Hamilton stating that the road at New Brighton was often ohoked with sand, 'and that he had been at considerable exponas, and requesting some assistance from the Board. The clerk was directed to acknowledge receipt of the letter. From Mr Joynt asking if the Board would take over the road proposed to be laid out by him. The request of Mr Joynt was aooeded to. Messrs Cooper and Dunlop, with the ohairman, were appointed to wait upon the Drainage Board at its next meeting re ditch at Canal reserve. Mesßrs Travis and Hamilton and Frost waited upon the Board re forming road near their properties. Borne of the members of the Board were appointed to inspect the road and report. Accounts to the amount of £125 10s-5d were passed and ordered to be paid.
