Mails close at the Chief Post Office tor the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19. For Westport, per Star of the South, at 9.40 a.m. ; late fee letters, 9.50 a.zn. ; guard’s van, 10.20 p.m. train. For Northern Porta, per Alhambra, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Penguin, at 7.30 p.m. The guard’s van must not be used for this mail. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on Saturday, December 3rd, and will be due in London on January 17th. Notice. —On and after Nov. 1, 1881, money orders will be issued in Now Zealand payable at any town in Germany, and after Ist January next Money Orders will be issued in New Zealand payable in the United States of America.
