GAZETTE NOTICES.
WELLINGTON, November 17.
Tha “ Gazette” contains an i timation that the Hon. R. Oliver has been called to the Legislative Council. E. H. Oarow is gezstted B.M. for Dunedin; John Nugent Wood, R.M. and Warden for the districts of Southland, Otago Goldfields, and Clutha ; Edward Hardoastle, K.M. and District Judge Wellington ; B. Ward, B.M. Wanganui; E. Boethatn, K.M. Geraldine. The Eav. W. Sahnocd and Duncan McGregor, are appointed Fellows of the New Zealand University, vice Dr. Stewart resigned a:id the Bev. W. Johnston deceased. Ife ff Zealand is officially notified to bo free from pleuro-pnoumonia, and all quarantine regulations as to moving entile from one district to another are abolished. Quail Island, Lyttelton, and Mussel Bay, Port Chalmers, are declared quarantine grounds under the Diseased Cattle Act. Canterbury and Otago being declared clean, sheep may bo introduced from one to tha other without the notice required by the fortieth section of tho Shoop Act. Nelson Vigors Bioharda is gazetted Captain of tho Christ’s College Bills Cadets.
