MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17. For the United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, per Orient steamer, from Melbourne (specially addressed correspondence only), Otago and Australian Colonies, per Wanaka (to connect with Arawata at Fort Chalmers, for Melbourne) at 11.30 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.-10 a.m.; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. Note.—There will not be a supplementary > mail for tbe United Kingdom per express. FBI DAT, NOVEMBER 18. For Northern Ports, per Alhambra, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on Saturday. December 3rd, and will be due in London on January 17th. Notice.— On and after Nov. 1, 1881, money orders will be issued in New Zealand payable at any town in Germany, and after Ist January next Money Orders will be issued in New Zealand payable in the United States of AmericaSYDNEY J.
