KAIAPOI. Tuesday, November 15. [Before G-. H. Blackwell, Esq., Mayor.] Embezzlement. —Alexander McMillan was brought up charged with the embezzlement in July last of £l2 10s, collected on account of Hugh McLaohlan, he then being a servant in the employ of the prosecutor ; also, with the embezzlement of divers other sums belonging to the said Hugh McLachlan. Mr Nalder appeared to prosecute, and applied for a remand till Monday next. The accused consented to the remand, and asked to be allowed to find bail. The remand was granted, and bail allowed, accused in his recognisance of £2OO, and two sureties of £IOO each, EANGIOEA. Tuesday, Novbmbbb 15. [Before O. Whitefoord, Esq., S.M., H. Blackett, A. H. Cunningham, J. O. Boys, and J. Johnston, Esqrs.] Oattek Tebspass.—Oases against J. Polo and W. Noble were dismissed, O. Willet, for tethering a horse in a public road, was fined ss. B. Head and J. Manning, for allowing cattle to stray, ware each fined ss. Violent Assault.—H. Carr, a contractor, was charged with violently assaulting Graham Bruere, a member of the Eowai Boad Board, in consequence of some disputed work. Mr Gresson appeared for accused. Accused was fined 20s, and ordered to pay professional fee, and bound over to keep the peace for twelve months in one recognisance of £25. Civil Oases. —M . Harris’ estate v J. Luxton, £42 9a lOd, set off £34 15s lOd ; Mr Clark for defendant; judgment for plaintiff for £23 17s 4d. E, B. Allpress v J. H. Ferguson, £1 3s; judgment summons ; order made for payment in a week, or in default fourteen days imprisonment. E. Clarke v F. W. Bernays, £2 2s; judgment for plaintiff. T. Howell v J.
