Mrs Peroy, who jumped from the first story of Mr Sloane's house at the reoent fire, with her baby in her arms, is in a dangerous state. The baby has died. The Working Man and the Autocrat. The Working Men's Political Association sent a deputation to Sir George Grey, assuring him of their support in his candidature for City East. WELLINGTON, November 14. A Government of Progress. The Government have decided to hold a further sale of land on the Waimate Plains at the back of the continuous reserve, and the sale will oomprise about 6000 to 8000 aores, principally of bush land, and will take place the week before Christmas. The principal block is continuous to those reoently sold at the baok of Farihaka.

A house, the property of Mr Eobert Ferguson, was destroyed by fire at Kurow on the Hth inst. The fire was caused by some stove piping igniting tho wood of the wall.
