An extraordinary race took place at Cork. The competitors were a donkey, two ponies, and a horse. The distance to be run was two miles. The donkey received a start of a mile and the two ponies half a mile each. The cob started from scratch. There was a large assemblage of spectators, and after an amusing and exiting race the two ponies came in first and second. The donkey was third, but the horse did not pass the post.
