outside the wharo during the terrible storm on Monday night, in order to drive the Taipo out of her, and she died the following morning.

The police have warned the Licensed Victuallers of Dunedin that they intend enforcing the provision of tho new Act with respect to the front doors of hotels being locked on Sundays, and proceedings will be taken against those who do not comply. It has been decided by the Licensed Victuallers to refuse to comply with the Act, in order that the matter may be tested, as they consider the provision very arbitrary, troubleome, and useless.
