Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following: places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under:— TUESDAT. NOVEMBER 8. For Northern Ports, per Penguin, at 7.30 p.m. Tha guard's van must not bo used for this mnil. Supplementary mails for the Australian Colonies will be closed on Tuesday, November Bth, at 7.30 p.m. Bate fee letters may be posted in the travelling post-office attached to the express train on Wednesday, November 9th. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 10. For Akaroa and Otago, per Waitaki, at 9.40 a.m.; late fee letters, 9.50 a.m. ; guard's van, 10.20 a.m. train. For Northern ports, per Rotomahana, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2 fp.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. Notice.—On and after Ist November, 1881, money orders will be issued in New Zealand, payable at any town in Germany, and after Ist January next Money Orders will be issued in New Zealand payable in the United States of America. Note.—Wednesday, 9th inst., being a Post-office holiday, aU branches of the Post-office will be closed on that day. The mails usually sent on the 9th will be closed on the Bth inst., at 7.30 p.m., and as there will be no delivery by letter carrier on 9th, the Post-office will be open on the night of the Bth, at 9 p.m., for the delivery of letters usually taken out by the carriers.
