Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary altera--tions) as under : TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8. Por Otago and Australian Colonies, perArawata (to connect with Te Anan, at Port Chalmers) at 1.45 p m.; late fee letters, % p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Penguin, at 7.30 p.m. The guard’s van must not be nsed for this mail
For Kaikoura, per Stormfcird, at 7.30 p.m. Supplementary mails for the Australian Colonies will be closed on Tuesday, November Sth,. at 7.30 p.m. Late fee letters may be posted intravelling Post-office van attached to the express train on Wednesday, November 9th. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 10.
For Akaroa and Otago, per Waitki, at 9.40a.m.; late fee letters at 9.50 a.m.; guard’s van. 10.20 a.m. train.
Notice. —On and after Nov. 1, 1881, money orders will be issued in New Zealand payable at any town in Germany, and after Ist January next Money Orders will be issued in New Zealand payable in the United States of America. Note. —Wednesday, 9th inst., being a Post Office holiday, all branches of the Post Office will be closed on that day. The mails usually sent on the 9th will be closed on the Btb inst., at 7.30 p.m., and as there will be no delivery by letter carrier on the 9th, the Post Office will be open on the night of the Sth at nine o’clock for the delivery of letters usually taken out by the carriers.
